FIBERS

Locally Grown, is a performance that is composed of spandex and mesh material combined to create a strange human like structure when performers create movement inside. Locally grown, has general statistics about the Harrisonburg, and JMU area, as well as, sexual assault and rape statistics in relation to both communities screen printed onto the surface. This work is meant to produce an interaction between art and viewer, as well as, conversation among people about not only the piece itself but how this information connects with them.
